Academic Achievements
Elected Fellow of the IEEE for contributions to the analysis, implementation, and application of cellular neural networks; Served as an Associate and Guest Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems-I; Helped found and served as the first Secretary and later Chairman of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society Technical Committee on Cellular Neural Networks and Array Computing; Technical Program Chair for the 2004 IEEE International Workshop on Cellular Neural Networks and their Applications; General Chair in 2005.
Research Experience
Director of the Consumer Media Laboratory from 2001-2008; Initiator and current director of the Master of Science program in Electronic Engineering; Organizer or co-organizer of the Vision Chips/Vision Systems workgroup at the Telluride Neuromorphic Engineering Workshop for the past eight years.
