Academic Achievements
- Published over 200 articles in prestigious international journals and conferences, and authored or edited more than 20 books. She was Editor-in-Chief of the ACM Journal of Data and Information Quality (JDIQ) from June 2017 to November 2023. Directed the ECONA inter-university center (2014-2020) and the Sapienza Design Research inter-departmental research center (2015-2018).
Research Experience
- Started her research activities in September 1986 at the Department of Computer and System Sciences. She has coordinated or participated in numerous national and international research projects, including European projects such as KIM, VENUS, FADIVA, LAURIN, SEWASIE, DELOS, Interop, WORKPAD, SM4All, PROMISE, SmartVortex.
Education
- Graduated in Electronic Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome in February 1987; obtained a PhD in Computer Science from the same university in October 1992.
Background
- Research interests include Human-Computer Interaction, Languages and Interfaces for Database Interaction, Data Quality in Information Systems, Database Modeling and Design, Layout Algorithms.
Miscellany
- Since November 2020, she is a founding member of the Italian Society for Artificial Intelligence Ethics (SIpEIA), and since 2024, she serves as its president.
