She has published over 90 scholarly journal articles on these topics in a range of journals. She has participated in multiple forums and public discussions, sharing her research findings.
Research Experience
In fall of 2019, she joined the Hubbard School of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Minnesota as an Associate Professor, where she holds the Don and Carole Larson Professorship in Health Communication. In 2024, she was promoted to a full professor.
Background
Her research focuses on identifying and correcting misinformation on social media, building news literacy, and encouraging people to consume more diverse information online. Her work spans politics, science, and health, exploring how social media can be used to improve democratic society.
Miscellany
Outside of academia, she loves spending time with her family, baking (especially cookies!), reading novels, and being active outside as much as possible (except during the winter, she’s not a fan of the cold!). She also loves to travel and has a long wish-list of places to visit.
