Resume (English only)
Academic Achievements
  • Published 'Deterministic Uncertainty Propagation for Improved Model-Based Offline Reinforcement Learning', proposing a novel method called MOMBO for deterministic uncertainty propagation, enhancing model-based offline reinforcement learning.
Research Experience
  • Worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Heidelberg University with Prof. Fred Hamprecht; served as an assistant professor at Ozyegin University in Istanbul, Turkey; led a research group at Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence before joining SDU; currently the founder and PI of the SDU Adaptive Intelligence (ADIN) Lab.
Education
  • Earned his PhD from Aalto University in 2013 under the supervision of Prof. Samuel Kaski.
Background
  • Associate Professor of Machine Learning at the University of Southern Denmark, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMADA). Research interests include Bayesian inference, stochastic process modeling, and applications of deep neural networks to reinforcement learning and continual learning. He is an ELLIS Member, a society of top artificial intelligence researchers in Europe.
Miscellany
  • Fascinated by both popular and technical aspects of natural sciences, especially physics and biology, and interested in their application to the development of environment-friendly technologies. Loves his wife Fatos and daughter Sehnaz.
