Currently an Assistant Professor in the Learning and Reasoning group at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam; was a postdoctoral researcher at Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology FIT, based at RWTH Aachen University (Germany); also a part-time postdoc at the University of Jyväskylä and a scientific advisor for WE-OPT-IT Oy (former MyOpt Oy).
Education
Obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from the University of Antwerp, completed Master's studies at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland, and continued as a doctoral student there. Guided by Professors Vagan Terziyan (Distributed Systems) and Ferrante Neri (Computational Intelligence Optimization).

Research interests include Machine Learning and Graphs, Knowledge Graph Embedding, Incorporating Knowledge Graphs into end-to-end ML models, Approximate Query Answering, Knowledge Representation, Prototype-Based Ontologies, Knowledge Evolution and Matching, Ontology Learning and Matching. Also worked on Evolutionary Computing (Optimization), Frequent Pattern Mining, Multi-Agent Systems, Version control in IT education, Scalable Hierarchical Clustering.
