Research Experience
- Currently an Assistant Professor in the Learning and Reasoning group at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam; was a postdoctoral researcher at Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology FIT, based at RWTH Aachen University (Germany); also a part-time postdoc at the University of Jyväskylä and a scientific advisor for WE-OPT-IT Oy (former MyOpt Oy).
Education
- Obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from the University of Antwerp, completed Master's studies at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland, and continued as a doctoral student there. Guided by Professors Vagan Terziyan (Distributed Systems) and Ferrante Neri (Computational Intelligence Optimization).

- Research interests include Machine Learning and Graphs, Knowledge Graph Embedding, Incorporating Knowledge Graphs into end-to-end ML models, Approximate Query Answering, Knowledge Representation, Prototype-Based Ontologies, Knowledge Evolution and Matching, Ontology Learning and Matching. Also worked on Evolutionary Computing (Optimization), Frequent Pattern Mining, Multi-Agent Systems, Version control in IT education, Scalable Hierarchical Clustering.
