Published over 400 refereed papers and book chapters. Served as Technical Program Chair for 2006 IEEE Globecom and General Chair for 2016 IEEE ICASSP. Fellow of the IEEE.
Research Experience
Currently Distinguished Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UC Davis, and head of BRAT-Lab (Broadband Radio Access Technologies Laboratory). Has served on numerous technical programs for SPS workshops and conferences, and was an associate editor for several IEEE journals.
Education
Received B.S. from Nanjing Institute of Technology in 1982, M.A.Sc. from the University of Toronto in 1987, and Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1990, all in electrical engineering.
Background
Research interests include wireless communications, signal processing, and communication problems. Specializes in areas such as wireless transceiver optimization, blind channel estimation and equalization, MIMO communications, multiuser detection, source separation, adaptive signal processing, parameter estimation, radar target discrimination, multimedia wireless communications, and cross-layer wireless communications.
