Research focuses on the meaning of language (semantics) and how meaning is construed in context (pragmatics)
Interested in discourse understanding (structure and progression), evaluating and improving LLMs' capabilities in this area
Also works on theoretical puzzles in semantics/pragmatics, such as clausal complementation, bias, evidentiality, Question Under Discussion (QUD), speech acts, and rhetorical questions
