Background
Senior Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research, working in the Inclusive Futures group focused on inventing novel and inclusive technologies for people with disabilities.
Research centers on AI agents that support collaboration with an accessibility focus to ensure people of all abilities can use collaboration technology.
Current interests include understanding user needs to shape technology design for collaboration, especially AI agents that enhance collaboration across distance and time.
Employs mixed methods: qualitative (video-based observation, interviews, surveys) and quantitative (usage logs) to study technology use and inform new designs.
Special interest in accessibility, awareness-sharing interfaces for distributed groups, remote communication (work and home), and novel uses of video, audio, and live streaming.
