Academic Achievements
Publications available on Google Scholar and ORBi; involved in multiple research projects including Life-HTS for high-temperature superconductors, ONELAB-Photonics for photonics applications, and GetDDM for optimized domain decomposition methods to solve large scale time-harmonic acoustic and electromagnetic wave problems.
Research Experience
Leads the Applied and Computational Electromagnetics (ACE) group at the Montefiore Institute; develops research codes such as Gmsh and GetDP distributed as free (open source) software; involved in the ONELAB project, developing models like Life-HTS, ONELAB-Photonics, and GetDDM.
Education
Full professor at the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department of the University of Liège. Previously, he was an assistant professor of Mathematics at Case Western Reserve University, a Postdoctoral Scholar in Applied and Computational Mathematics at Caltech, and a Chargé de Recherches with the Belgian National Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS).
Background
Research interests encompass modeling, analysis, algorithm development, and simulation for problems arising in various areas of engineering and science, with current applications in computational electromagnetism as well as biomedical and geophysical problems.
Miscellany
Provides GL2PS for creating high-quality PostScript, PDF or SVG vector images in OpenGL applications; maintains Directory, a LaTeX and BibTeX package for creating and managing address books; offers an old LaTeX class for writing letters and faxes at the University of Liège.
