Research Experience
Worked as a Senior Member and later as a Principal Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Labs-Research from 1995 to 2000; since 2000, has held multiple interdisciplinary positions at USC and led several research centers.

Received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from College of Engineering, Guindy (Chennai, India) in 1988; M.S., Engineer, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from UCLA in 1990, 1992, and 1995 respectively.

Vice President for Presidential Initiatives at the University of Southern California, Niki & C. L. Max Nikias Chair in Engineering. Research interests include signal processing, computer science, linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, pediatrics, and otolaryngology-head and neck surgery.
