Research Experience
- Joined University College Cork in 2019 as Professor, leading multiple research initiatives.
- Director of the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI)-funded Centre for Research Training in Advanced Networks for Sustainable Societies (ADVANCE CRT).
- Co-Principal Investigator of the SFI-funded CONNECT Centre for Future Networks.
- Steering committee member of the Cork Smart Gateway initiative for smart communities in Cork City and County.
- Since 2000, involved in Irish and European research grants totaling over €80M, with approximately €16M directly supporting his research.
- Previously at Cork Institute of Technology (now Munster Technological University) as Lecturer and Senior Lecturer, where he founded the Nimbus Research Centre.
