Research Experience
- From 1999 to 2022, he was a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley, also teaching in the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research Department as well as the Haas School of Business.
- Since 2022, he has joined VinUniversity in Vietnam as Vice President for Research and Innovation and Dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 1990. Held positions at the National Institute for Applied Sciences (ENSTA) and the University of Paris La Sorbonne.
