Research Experience
Serving as the Associate Dean, Interaction, Technology and Information at RMIT University; previously had a 10-year career as a UX researcher in an academic library, dedicated to improving information experiences.
Education
I obtained my PhD in information interaction from the University of Melbourne's School of Computing and Information Systems in 2019. My doctoral research focused specifically on how readers browse library shelves, with the goal of improving online browsing experiences. This followed a decade-long career as a UX researcher practitioner in an academic library, where I worked on enhancing information experiences in a practical setting.
Background
Currently, I am the Associate Dean, Interaction, Technology and Information in the School of Computing Technologies at RMIT University. My research spans social and interactive issues related to information technology, with a particular focus on the role of information. I teach usability-related subjects across various degrees. The aim of my research is to ensure that advancements in information technology contribute to a better, fairer, and more equitable society.
Miscellany
In my free time, I enjoy gaming frequent flyer programs, playing complex board games, exercising for fun, and listening to music (especially fond of Florence and the Machine or Placebo, both discovered during my thesis writing process).
