Research Experience
Leads multiple projects, including ERC- and DRNF-funded research on quantifying global forest and non-forest trees using PlanetScope imagery and deep learning.
Collaborates with NASA on several DFF-funded projects for large-scale tree mapping in Africa.
Participates in an ESA-funded project with INRAE, Kayrros, LSCE, and others to map tree biomass in European forests using deep learning, NFI data, and aerial/PlanetScope imagery.
Collaborates with the Chinese Academy of Sciences to study the carbon sink effects of afforestation in southern China’s karst regions.
Works with INRAE, LSCE, and others on global carbon stock and vegetation monitoring using coarse-scale passive microwave (L-VOD) data.
