Research Experience
  • Leads multiple projects, including ERC- and DRNF-funded research on quantifying global forest and non-forest trees using PlanetScope imagery and deep learning.
  • Collaborates with NASA on several DFF-funded projects for large-scale tree mapping in Africa.
  • Participates in an ESA-funded project with INRAE, Kayrros, LSCE, and others to map tree biomass in European forests using deep learning, NFI data, and aerial/PlanetScope imagery.
  • Collaborates with the Chinese Academy of Sciences to study the carbon sink effects of afforestation in southern China’s karst regions.
  • Works with INRAE, LSCE, and others on global carbon stock and vegetation monitoring using coarse-scale passive microwave (L-VOD) data.
