Academic Achievements
Received an honorable mention “Premio Giovani Ricercatori” from the “Gruppo 2003” for his research on adversarial attacks against Windows malware detectors in 2023; Appointed Associate Editor for the journal Pattern Recognition in 2024; Obtained the “Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale” (ASN) along with the tenure-track position at the University of Genoa in 2025; Served as one of the program chairs of the workshop “Machine Learning for Cyber Security” (MLCS), co-located with ECML-PKDD, both in 2024 and 2025; Also program chair of “Rethinking Malware Analysis” (WoRMA) 2026, co-located with Euro S&P.
Research Experience
Worked as a postdoc at the PRA Lab, University of Cagliari, and collaborated with Pluribus One between 2021 and 2022. Since 2025, he has been a Tenure-track Assistant Professor at the University of Genoa.

Ph.D. obtained in 2021, with a thesis titled 'Formalizing Evasion Attacks against Security Detectors'.

Contributed to the development of SecML-Torch library, which is used for robustness evaluation of deep learning models; Currently involved in several active research projects including InfoAICert, ELSA, SERICS Spoke 3, TRITON.
