About the job

As a research engineer you will develop innovative methods for the validation and release of complex AI models, including probabilistic, generative, and large-scale models. In close collaboration with validation teams in corporate research and the business units, you will design and develop forward-looking concepts. Together with the business units, you will analyze technological requirements, particularly in the context of validation and safety of time-series-processing models. You will implement and engineer prototypical software solutions and demonstrate them in concrete Bosch use cases. Last but not least, you will integrate existing technologies into toolboxes that support the validation of modern AI functions.

Responsibilities

Develop innovative methods for the validation and release of complex AI models, including probabilistic, generative, and large-scale models.

Design and develop forward-looking concepts in close collaboration with validation teams in corporate research and the business units.

Analyze technological requirements, particularly in the context of validation and safety of time-series-processing models, together with the business units.

Implement and engineer prototypical software solutions and demonstrate them in concrete Bosch use cases.

Integrate existing technologies into toolboxes that support the validation of modern AI functions.

Qualifications

Minimum

completed PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, or a comparable technical field

several years of experience in AI-related topics within industrial product development (e.g., consumer goods, automotive, manufacturing), including hands-on involvement in product release processes, safety standards, and validation methods in software and AI environments

proven expertise in modern AI algorithms and principles, such as generative and large-scale models, deep neural networks, foundation models, and agentic AI, complemented by a strong background in statistics

extensive experience in developing robust, safe, and reliable AI solutions, including the integration of AI methods with formal methods and statistical approaches to address real-world engineering challenges

strong skills in implementing AI algorithms in Python, applying modern, production-grade software development practices and standards

ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly and enjoy working successfully in interdisciplinary and international teams

business fluent English skills written and spoken; German is a plus
