About the job
At Google, we put our users first. The world is always changing, so we need Product Managers who are continuously adapting and excited to work on products that affect millions of people every day. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development. One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users. As a Senior Product Manager within YouTube Trust and Safety, you will drive the detection strategy and product roadmap for generative AI content. You will lead efforts to mitigate high-stakes risks associated with altered and synthetic content such as deepfakes, AI-generated likeness abuse, synthetic misinformation, and low-quality content. You will build and launch ML-powered classifiers and evaluation systems. In this role, you will lead platform safety and maintain user trust. At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. We work together to give everyone the power to share their story, explore what they love, and connect with one another in the process. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world. We explore new ideas, solve real problems, and have fun — and we do it all together.
Responsibilities
Own and scale the product roadmap for how YouTube proactively addresses harmful generative AI content.
Partner with engineering to scope, build, and deploy advanced machine learning classifiers.
Design feedback loops and metrics to measure classifier signal performance, ensuring safety systems respond resiliently to high-sensitivity events.
Translate safety requirements into engineering roadmaps, aligning stakeholder groups toward shared platform safety objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional policy, intelligence, and operations teams to prioritize and resolve emerging safety gaps (e.g., deepfakes and synthetic misinformation).
Qualifications
Minimum

8 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, 0 to 1, etc.).
2 years of experience in ML/AI-driven product development, including building and shipping machine learning classifiers, recommendation systems, or search algorithms.
1 year of experience designing safety-critical, fraud, abuse, or trust and safety systems, with experience managing system trade-offs (e.g., precision vs. recall).
Preferred
Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, policy, legal, and operational stakeholders to build scalable tools.
Experience in preparing and delivering technical presentations, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Excellent data analysis skills, with experience defining quantitative metrics, evaluation frameworks, and feedback loops for system behaviors.
