SLB’s Software Technology Innovation Center (STIC) is looking for an experienced software engineer with enthusiasm to explore new technologies and drive innovation projects in the Foundations Lab. Drawing on solid foundations in computer science and experience with a variety of technologies, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to build prototypes, de-risk solution ideas, innovate with emerging technologies and collaborate with other labs in the technology center, and across the global organization to help build the next generation of solutions for the Energy Industry. A self-motivated individual with an affinity to push the boundaries, work under uncertainty and enjoy the opportunity to create and innovate will thrive in this role.
Responsibilities
Establish and drive thought leadership opportunities related to topics of importance.
Generate innovative ideas, establish new technology development directions, and shape and execute technical projects.
Work with AI engineers to integrate ML solutions in the wider technology landscape.
Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge and contribute to technical discussions and reviews as an expert in related areas of responsibility.
Actively disseminate knowledge via webinars, talks and tutorials for the technical community within SLB.
Work across multiple cross-functional teams in high-visibility roles to prototype end-to-end data and software solutions.
Apply best practices in software design, DevOps, coding, testing, security and automation.
Willingness to provide technical, social, and practical mentorship guidance to others as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum
MS / Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Science or similar disciplines.
15+ years of relevant experience in technical areas related to cloud computing, distributed computing, ML Engineering, natural language processing, database systems, security, data platforms.
Software development best practices.
Experience with cloud environments such as GCP, Azure and AWS.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
