Senior Software Engineer

The HPC/AI (High performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence) team is on a mission to build the next-generation distributed AI supercomputer, enabling breakthroughs in artificial intelligence by delivering unmatched computational power, scalability and reliability. We design and develop cutting-edge infrastructure that supports high-performance AI model training at scale, laying the foundation for innovations that redefine what AI can achieve. As a Senior Software Engineer on the HPC/AI team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next-generation networking infrastructure for AI training and inference in Azure Cloud.

Leads discussions and owns the architecture of products/solutions, developing complex design specifications and testing design options, ensuring performance, scalability, resilience, and security.

Independently creates clear test strategies that ensure solution quality, incorporating security testing and leveraging AI tools for test automation.

Produces extensible, maintainable, well-tested, secure, and performant code adhering to design specifications, continuously improving code quality and stability using metrics and AI techniques.

Reviews product and test code to ensure compliance with standards, adequate test coverage, and adherence to best practices, coaching others through code reviews.

Independently uses AI tools and practices throughout the software development lifecycle, taking responsibility for AI-generated assets and improving AI integration in processes.

Collaborates cross-team to identify dependencies, resolve conflicts, and ensure overall system security, compliance, and reliability.

Applies and promotes security best practices across code, architecture, and operations to ensure each layer is independently secure, including AI safety features in AI production systems.
