As a Research Intern at Microsoft Research, Vancouver lab or Redmond lab, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing cutting-edge technology in artificial intelligence. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about AI, Hardware (HW) Design, and Computer Architecture. You will collaborate with a team of world-class researchers and engineers across MSR labs exploring the ways to increase the performance and efficiency of the cutting-edge inference systems.
Responsibilities
Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research on chip architectures for efficient AI serving
Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed documentation of simulations, methodologies, and findings. Present results and insights to team members and stakeholders.
Innovation and Problem-Solving: in-depth knowledge and understanding across different disciplines, proficient problem formulation and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
Minimum
Currently enrolled in a Master or Ph.D. program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and vibrant research environment.
Willingness to embrace knowledge outside your field of research interest.
Experience in conducting research in the fields of Computer Architecture and HW design
Experience in conducting experiments and writing papers.
Programming skills in C/C++ and Python.
Knowledge of Machine Learning/AI/Large Language Model concepts.
Relevant publications such as ISCA, MICRO, ASPLOS, HPCA, CVPR, ACL, ICML, NeurIPS, etc.
