Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. Responsibilities
Advise product and Generative AI teams on civic obligations, ensuring consistency in Google’s approach to supporting and mitigating emerging risks.
Act as the central connective tissue between Intelligence, Engineering, Legal, and Communications to navigate complex escalations and high-stakes decisions balancing expression and integrity.
Influence model teams to develop sustainable proactive mitigation strategies and collaborate on policies prohibiting deceptive practices that undermine civic processes.
Partner with Trust & Safety on provenance, detection, and metadata standards while engaging with red-teaming units to evaluate systemic impacts.
Monitor global abuse trends and represent the organization in public-facing forums with government officials and Key Opinion Formers (KOFs).
Qualifications
Minimum
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
13 years of experience in data analytics, cybersecurity, program management, business strategy, technology research, anti-abuse, policy or related fields.
2 years of experience in people management, leading teams.
2 years of experience addressing risks in Generative AI products in a related field (product management, policy, government affairs, operations).
Preferred
Experience advising on proactive and reactive mitigations to Generative AI applications.
Experience handling senior stakeholders and a proven ability to influence all levels of the organization.
Understanding of modern generative AI architectures, including the specific threat vectors posed by multimodal classifiers, automated deepfakes, and hyper-personalized persuasion.
Demonstrated track record of engaging in cross-functional or interagency stakeholders including product, legal, policy, enforcement.
Demonstrated track record of navigating extreme "gray areas" cases that push the boundary of policy and managing high-profile crisis communications or content decisions where corporate growth metrics and civic safety are in tension.
