About the job

Our Security team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. Security Engineers work with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. In this role, you will also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities. As an AI Information Security Engineer, you will help to ensure that our AI products and systems are designed and implemented to the security standards. You will perform technical security assessments, code reviews and vulnerability testing to highlight risk, helping Google teams and partners to improve security, and work on a wide variety of software designs and technology stacks. You will also work closely with other Google Engineers to design and build proactive methods to enhance our security posture. In addition, you will have the option to specialize or perform research in a number of varying fields.

Responsibilities

Analyze systems to identify vulnerabilities and opportunities for hardening, and report findings to stakeholders for mitigation.

Promote quality security practices across the organization, influencing software engineers, immediate colleagues, and beyond Google.

Perform rapid threat modeling of complex systems to quickly determine areas that warrant further investigation and security review.

Conduct research to identify and mitigate entire classes of vulnerabilities.

Leverage AI tools and agents in your day-to-day work to scale your own capabilities.

Qualifications

Minimum

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.

2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.

2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.

Preferred

Expertise in the AI security space, including research, exploits, and mitigations

Proficiency in programming for security research tasks such as scripting, tool development, and data analysis

Understanding of threat modeling, risk assessments or security assessments of products.

Ability to read, understand, and analyze code as well as write small tools and scripts
