About the job
The AWS Field Experience (AFX) team is looking for a passionate, innovative, results-oriented Senior Software Development Engineer to design and build the services that make it simpler for our field team to manage, maintain, and operate at scale. We build products and solutions that give our talented selling and marketing teams "superpowers" — letting them focus on the customer and helping them drive their business. We're handling massive scale, providing strategic data that drives the AWS business internally, and supporting one of the largest field sales organizations in the world.
As a Senior SDE on the AFX team, you'll have a unique opportunity to spearhead generative AI initiatives, building intelligent automation, insights generation, and scalable customer engagement systems that define the future of Customer Relationship Management at AWS. You'll architect and develop new services that collect and store metrics at internet scale, deliver critical capabilities to the field, and embed operational knowledge and best practices into everything we build. In addition, as part of the broader AWS Sales and Marketing organization, you will have the opportunity to influence the broader cloud strategy for AWS and potentially define future AWS products.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement generative AI workflows that power intelligent automation for field sales operations
- Develop and optimize data pipelines that synchronize account data across systems (Salesforce, AWSentral, Partner Tools) at scale
- Drive technical strategy for signals architecture and entity resolution to improve account data quality and coverage
- Build APIs and services that encode operational best practices and reduce manual toil for the field organization
- Own end-to-end delivery of features from design through deployment, operating in an agile environment with high autonomy
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct design and code reviews, and raise the engineering bar across the team
- Participate in on-call rotations and drive operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, and incident response
Qualifications
Minimum
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Preferred
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
