In this role, you'll design and develop complex features for an AI-based security system that works like having a security expert embedded directly in development teams. You'll collaborate with scientists and security experts to build tools that provide continuous feedback to developers right in their IDE, allowing them to quickly identify and address security concerns in their designs and code. Your work will directly enable AWS developers to build more ambitious products faster than ever before, while maintaining the high security standards that AWS customers depend on.

Responsibilities

Design and develop features for an AI-based security system that provides continuous feedback on code security within developers' IDEs, ensuring developers can quickly update designs to remove security issues

Work collaboratively with scientists and security experts to build trusted security guidance systems for AWS developers, ensuring high quality and operational excellence

Contribute significantly to the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, code, testing, deployment, and maintenance of the team's software

Actively participate in code reviews, providing meaningful feedback to team members and ensuring security best practices are followed

Engage directly with development teams across AWS to understand their needs, gather feedback, and implement improvements that enhance the developer experience while maintaining security standards

Qualifications

Minimum

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 2+ years of non-intternship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
