About the job

Are you ready to shape the future of secure artificial intelligence — not just from the sidelines, but from the center of the action? The AWS Generative AI Innovation Center stands at the forefront of the AI revolution, where we're not just advising on technology — we're building it, securing it, and delivering it alongside the world's most innovative organizations. As businesses race to adopt transformative GenAI capabilities, security isn't just a checkbox — it's the foundation that makes innovation possible. In this role, you'll be both the guardian and the builder — ensuring every GenAIIC engagement meets AWS' security bar while also rolling up your sleeves to deliver secure GenAI solutions directly to customers.

Responsibilities

- Conducting security assessments, architecture reviews, and compliance evaluations across GenAIIC engagements globally, ensuring every delivery meets AWS security standards before, during, and after customer work

- Embedding as a billable security consultant within customer engagements across POCs, innovations, FDE, and ProServe delivery models, providing hands-on security architecture, implementation, and guidance

- Holding and enforcing the AWS security bar across diverse engagement types and customer contexts, translating security requirements into practical, deployable solutions

- Partnering with internal delivery teams, AWS Security, ProServe Security, and third-party partners to architect and implement security controls that are both rigorous and pragmatic

- Building reusable security patterns, accelerators, and reference architectures based on real engagement experience that scale your impact across the practice

Qualifications

Minimum

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience

- 5+ years of experience in information security, application security, cloud security, or security architecture

- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and securing cloud-based applications and infrastructure, preferably on AWS

- Demonstrated experience with security controls for AI/ML systems or emerging technologies

- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and secure coding practices

- Experience conducting security assessments, architecture reviews, and threat modeling

Preferred

- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field

- AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, or AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty

- Experience with generative AI security challenges including prompt injection, data leakage, model access control, and audit logging

- Experience building or deploying GenAI applications using Amazon Bedrock, Amazon GuardDuty, Amazon Security Lake, or other AWS GenAI services

- Experience developing security accelerators, reference architectures, or reusable security patterns for AI/ML systems

- Experience in customer-facing technical roles such as security consulting, professional services, or forward-deployed engineering

- Public speaking, thought leadership, or authoring security guidance for external audiences
